The Workshop
"IMAGINE BEFORE CREATE"
This is Batiskafo’s immersion zone, where the secret to the object’s creation
resides. Tools and different kinds of materials are stored here; sometimes they mix
revealing new ideas that needed that casual encounter to hatch in the imagination.

The painting corner
Near the window, with soft music that helps me to transport myself, a comfortable chair and the watercolors I am developing ideas that become color illustrations.
I especially listen to music by Agnes Obel, Ludovico Einaudi or Cigarrettes After Sex, they are my three favorites to immerse myself in my most artistic task. It is something for which I need solitude and concentration, I dedicate a lot of time to each painting and the distractions are incompatible.
Once I have finished the watercolor, I scan it and work with it digitally using design programs to adapt it to bags, brooches, cushions or whatever I have in mind for it.

The Machine
I confess I am in love with my sewing machine, it is a Singer Heavy Duty that works like a fable.
I work with her at the table in front of a wide window, which I am lucky to enjoy, with a wide and green horizon, many times covered in a leaden gray given my geographical location. But on sunny days a focus of warm light runs through every corner of the workshop throughout the morning and I feel privileged to work in this great little space.
To cut the fabric and patterns I use the large table by the door. This is an essential work table, I can work on my feet, there is plenty of space on its large surface, I have it well lit and it is strong, so I use it for many other things, such as riveting, cutting leather or experimenting with new materials and tools.

The beauty of small materials
One of the advantages of working with jewelry is that you can do it almost anywhere, you do not need a lot of space or big tools. Of course, I have a small chest of drawers where I store all the well-labeled material, because with all those beads and small pieces it can become a real chaos.
I started to make my designs almost accidentally, when I bought some pieces on the internet just because they seemed beautiful to me, and later I began to experiment with them. But little by little it became an important pillar of the brand, realizing that it coincided with pleasure of the women who came by the store looking for new designs.
Many different materials come into play, sometimes also watercolors such as brooches or wooden necklaces.
I am looking for hand-dyed ribbons, vintage design chains, glass beads, natural gems … I always choose the materials carefully so that they are in line with the style I am pursuing, that they give me design play and do not cause allergies.
The objective of this jewelry is very simple, that feels good, that highlights the beauty of women in a comfortable and light way, so that the protagonist of the painting is her and not her jewelry.
